Close-Up of Matilda, the White Angry Bird With a Grumpy Face
Coloring guide
Only Matilda's face shows up in this front-facing close-up, and nothing sits behind her. The white bird from Angry Birds has an egg-shaped head, three solid black feathers sticking up on top, and heavy slanted eyebrows that make her look grumpy. Her round eyes have small black pupils. A big rounded beak sits in the center of her face above a large open black mouth, as if she's shouting or gasping. Big cheek shapes flank the beak, and a curved line runs across the bottom of the face. Thick outlines help small hands stay inside the lines. White and light gray work for the body, and an orange beak pops against the black mouth and feathers. A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- bright red
- golden yellow
- pale beige
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the bright red color and fill the large round head top, both lower body sides, and both cheeks, staying inside the black outlines.
- 2Keep the two eye whites white, leaving the round eyes and black pupils clean so they stand out.
- 3Fill the upper beak and the lower beak with golden yellow, working around the black nostril shape.
- 4Color the belly at the bottom of the bird with pale beige, leaving the black nostril and outlines untouched.
- 5Optional: Add a few light diagonal strokes of a slightly darker red on the body to give it a textured, pencil-like look.
- 6Finish by checking that no white gaps remain in the red and yellow areas, and that the black outlines are fully visible.
