Astronaut Standing Beside American Flag on the Moon

An astronaut in a full spacesuit stands on the lunar surface and looks up at an American flag on a tall pole. The flag is drawn with wavy stripes and a field of stars in the upper corner, and the pole is planted in a small mound of dirt. The astronaut wears a rounded helmet with a visor, a large rectangular backpack, bulky gloves and thick boots, and the suit has little fold lines at the arms and legs. Long wavy lines across the ground show the moon's flat, open terrain. Kids can color the stripes red and white and the star field blue, then choose metallic grays for the suit. This works well as a quiet activity for a 4th of July lesson about the flag and the first moon landing, and the printable page gives plenty of space for crayons or markers.
