Reading Time with a Baby Turtle: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Comic Fun
Coloring guide
A happy baby turtle is sunk into a big squishy bean bag chair, holding a comic book open and smiling. The comic pages show a sun and clouds, a starburst panel, and tiny scenes with a tree and a small turtle, so there's a lot of little detail to color. A pillow leans against the side of the chair, and a table lamp with a pull chain stands in the corner. Down in the bottom right, an open pizza box holds a pepperoni pizza with one slice pulled out. The turtle has a round shell, a tuft of hair on top and big sparkly eyes. It's a nice choice for a quiet afternoon or a reading reward. Sunny yellow works well for the comic's sun, and a bright green turtle will make the book stand out. Younger kids will like the larger shapes, and older kids can take on the comic panels. - 1Start with the big green bean bag cushion using grass green, leaving the background wall white.
- 2Color the turtle's head, hands, and round body parts in golden yellow, keeping the eye whites white.
- 3Fill the shell, book frame edges, and pizza box in bright blue, bright red, and light tan so the main shapes pop.
- 4Paint the feet, legs, and lamp shade in tangerine orange and pale cream, then add the blue pillow in light blue.
- 5Add comic panel details like the sky in sky blue, the trees and bushes in grass green, and the sun in golden yellow.
- 6Optional: Finish with a few purple and brown accents on the lamp stand and comic figures for extra depth.
