A big-eyed baby unicorn stands front and center, smiling with its head tilted a little. It has a spiral horn, pointed ears, a long shaggy mane and a fluffy tail. A stitched seam down its face makes it look like a soft plush toy. A large rainbow arches over puffy clouds behind it, and three butterflies flutter near the upper corners. Down at the bottom, tulips and daisy-like flowers fill the grass, with a few small grass tufts tucked between them. Bold, open shapes make this a good fit for younger kids who are still working on staying inside the lines. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the grass and leaves: color the grass and stems lime green, and the leaves and tulip stems grass green.
- 2Fill the sky and clouds with pale sky blue, leaving the background gaps white.
- 3Color the unicorn body, face, legs and ears pale lavender, then fill the hooves and inner ears with violet and blush pink.
- 4Paint the rainbow bands: coral red on top, then orange, lemon yellow, lime green and mustard yellow, leaving the thin gaps white.
- 5Add the mane and tail with hot pink, light pink, turquoise, golden yellow, orchid purple and lemon yellow, and color the horn and nose cream or golden yellow as you like.
- 6Finish the flowers with rose pink tulips, lemon yellow flower centers and butterflies in soft teal and rose pink, keeping the flower petals and eye whites white. Optional: add a little darker shading along the lower edges of the body for depth.
