Bald Eagle Head in Front of Waving American Flag

A bald eagle's head and neck fill the center of this page, shown in side view with a sharp hooked beak, a round watchful eye, and long feathers drawn in thin flowing lines. Jagged, shadowed feather tips hang along the bottom of the neck. Behind the eagle, an American flag ripples in soft folds. The upper left shows a field of outlined stars, and the stripes run across the lower part and curve along the bottom edge. Try white or light gray for the head feathers and yellow for the beak, then use red and blue for the flag so the eagle stands out. It also works well for a 4th of July talk about national symbols, and the printable outline gives older kids plenty of feather detail to shade. Younger kids can start with the big stripes.
