Batman Lunging Ahead of Flying Superman

Batman takes up the front of this page, his long cape sweeping behind as he lunges forward with a clenched, clawed glove and a fierce scowl beneath his pointed cowl. Superman flies behind him with one fist drawn up near his chest and the other arm stretched down. His cape ripples, and the S shield is clearly outlined. The art has a dramatic comic-book feel, with thick black shadows and strong muscle lines. No scenery is drawn, so both heroes stand out on the white page. Older kids who like detailed, high-contrast art will probably enjoy it most. Bright blue and a red cape suit Superman, while deep gray or dark purple suits Batman's cowl and cape.
