Beach Day Skeleton Lounging in a Striped Chair
Coloring guide
Wearing sunglasses, a grinning skeleton leans back in a striped deck chair with both hands behind its skull, enjoying a lazy day by the sea. A big segmented beach umbrella shades the chair, and a smiling sun with long rays shines above. Behind the chair are rolling ocean waves, a small puffy cloud and a sandcastle with towers and a little flag on top. In the sand up front you'll find a bucket and a small shovel, with dotted sand texture all around. The ribs, pelvis and bony feet have clear, medium-thick outlines that young children can color easily. The wide umbrella and chair stripes are great practice for bold color. Try turquoise and white on the umbrella and sunny yellow for the sun. Free to print for a funny Halloween-meets-summer activity at home or in class. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the sky and sea: fill the sky with sky blue, the ocean with ocean blue, and the waves with sea blue and bright aqua, leaving the fluffy cloud white.
- 2Color the sun and the umbrella next: lemon yellow for the sun rays and the umbrella panels, alternating with tomato red panels on the canopy.
- 3Fill the deck chair with tomato red and bone cream stripes, then color the wooden frame and legs in burnt orange.
- 4Color the sand and castle in sand gold, add the bucket in ocean blue and the shovel with a mustard gold handle and tomato red blade.
- 5Color the skeleton in bone cream, leaving the eye whites and the glasses shine white, and add coral pink to the chair arm. Optional: add warm gray shading under the chair to make it pop.
