Belle Chopping Down a Snowy Christmas Tree

Belle stands in the snow with an axe raised high in one hand, glancing back over her shoulder with a surprised look. She wears a long winter dress with fur-trimmed cuffs and hem, plus boots. Next to her is a tall pine tree with snow piled on every branch, and the trunk shows wood grain lines. Snowy mountain peaks fill the background. In the lower right, a horse seen from behind carries a pack, and a tiny character with a face sits near it. Even the axe has a small face on top. The big open areas on the snow and the dress are easy for younger kids to fill in. Try pale blues and lavenders for the snow and shadows, then make Belle's dress a warm color so she stands out. This free page also works well for a winter story time activity.
