A tall glass jar with a round-knobbed lid rests on a small round stool and is filled right to the top with sweets. Two big swirl lollipops poke up between round gumballs, and wrapped candies with twisted ends are tucked in around them. Some wrappers are striped and some have little dots. Two small stars hover beside the lid, and a simple line behind the stool suggests the edge of a table or shelf. Because the shapes are large and clear, kids still learning to stay inside the lines will do fine, while older children can enjoy working through all those gumballs. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big jar and lid: color the lid and its bands light teal, and fill the glass jar with a pale aqua wash, leaving the lollipop spirals white.
- 2Color the stool top and legs wood brown, and the lollipop sticks as well, so the table looks warm and sturdy.
- 3Fill the round candies: red balls with red, orange balls with orange, blue balls with bright blue, green balls with leaf green, and purple balls with purple.
- 4Color the wrapped candies next: the striped ones in purple, green and orange, and the dotted ones in golden yellow, with light lavender or pale gray ends.
- 5Add the small details: the little yellow candies, the light blue and mint balls, and the star shapes in golden yellow.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shade inside the glass jar and under the candies to make them look rounder, and leave the small shine spots white.
