Boy in Jacket and Sweater Sitting on a Train Seat

A young boy with short, thick hair and a side-swept fringe sits in a high-backed seat, looking off to one side with a thoughtful, slightly worried expression. He wears an open collared jacket with buttons over a ribbed knit sweater, and a plaid shirt collar shows at his neck. One hand rests on his lap while the other lies on a small furry animal stretched across his knees. Behind him are a tall window shape, a few stacked items on a ledge, and what looks like a small bundle or bag beside his arm. Try soft browns for the fur, a cozy wool color for the sweater, and a checked pattern in two shades for the shirt. It also works well for talking about how a character's face shows feelings. This printable page suits a quiet afternoon at the table.
