Buck With Antlers Grazing in the Grass

Coloring guide
A buck stands with its head lowered, sniffing at a patch of grass at the bottom of the page. Both antlers are drawn with several pointed tines, and the textured lines along them leave plenty of room for shading. The large ears have fine lines inside, and the eyes and dark nose are clearly outlined. Its long, thin legs are slightly bent, and a short tail hangs down at the back. The grass is drawn with lots of small, crisp strokes, so it works well for crayons or fine markers. For a nature lesson, print this free page and have kids color the deer in realistic browns and tans, then talk about why bucks grow antlers and what deer eat. Use a darker brown on the antlers to show off their texture.
