The Cat in the Hat strolls across a grassy hill in this scene, wearing his tall striped hat and big floppy bow tie. One arm stretches out to the side with the hand open. The other arm reaches up to hold a tall, curvy tree topped with a puffy cloud-shaped crown. His long tail curls behind him. On the left, a small wild-haired Thing runs along the hill with an arm raised. On the right, another Thing hangs upside down from the tree trunk. A few puffy clouds and rounded bushes fill the background, and a path with straight lines crosses the foreground. Try coloring the hat stripes in bold red and white, then use soft greens for the hill and bushes. The wild hair on the Things is a nice spot for practicing short, quick pencil strokes.
