Christmas Mandala with Birds in Santa Hats

A round mandala shows eight little round-bodied birds standing in a circle around a large snowflake in the center. Each bird wears a floppy Santa hat with a fluffy pom-pom on the tip, and they have big eyes, small beaks and feathery chest tufts. The birds face different directions as they go around the ring, with their feet resting on the edge of the center circle. Small and medium circles that look like snowballs fill the space behind them, along with a few round fuzzy pom-pom shapes. A thick circle outlines the whole design. Try coloring the birds as robins with red chests and brown wings, then use pale blues and silver for the snowflake. The snowballs are good for practicing careful, steady coloring in small spaces. This free printable suits older kids who like a bit of detail.
