Cherry-Topped Cupcake on an Oval Plate With Strawberries

A single cupcake sits on an oval plate with a big swirl of frosting piled on top and a round cherry with a curved stem at the very peak. The frosting has a wavy, scalloped edge where it meets the paper liner, which has simple straight sides that narrow toward the bottom. Around the base of the cupcake, a row of strawberries rests on the plate, some whole and some cut open, each one dotted with little seed marks. The lines are bold and the shapes are large, so it works well for younger kids with chunky crayons. Try coloring the strawberries red with yellow or brown seeds, then pick a pastel shade for the frosting so the cherry really stands out. It also makes a nice printable for a bakery or fruit theme day.
