Baby Hedgehog Under a Spotted Mushroom in the Forest

Coloring guide
Here's a smiling baby hedgehog on all fours beneath a giant mushroom, with round ears, big sparkly eyes and a little nose all pointed your way. The mushroom cap has large round spots, and the gills underneath are simple curved lines that are easy to follow. Those fluffy, textured spikes are a good place for kids to practice short pencil strokes. Two grass tufts, two leaves and a tiny sprout of grass finish off the ground at the bottom. Big shapes and bold outlines make it a good fit for preschoolers and early elementary kids. You could color the cap bright red and leave the spots white, then use warm browns and tans on the spikes. It's free to print, so you might want a few extra copies on hand. Add this to your Forest coloring page collection, alongside Beach and Umbrella.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.

- 2Fill the mushroom gills and stem with pale peach, then add a caramel brown shadow where the cap meets the stem.
- 3Color the hedgehog's body and feet pale peach, keeping the eye whites and the small shine dots white.
- 4Add soft pink inside both of the hedgehog's ears.
- 5Color the spiky back and right side of the hedgehog in chocolate brown to give it a fluffy look.
- 6Color the left leaf leaf green and the right leaf lime green. Optional: add a few darker strokes on the leaves with the same color for depth.
