Decorated Easter Egg With Swirls, Triangles and Scallops

Coloring guide
One large egg fills the page, with its surface split into horizontal bands of different patterns. Starting at the top, a plain cap sits above a row of small circles. Below that is a row of rounded scallop shapes hanging from a stripe, then a band of spiral swirls. In the middle, a row of zigzag triangles runs between two stripes. Near the bottom you will find more scalloped arches with larger spirals tucked beneath them, and two thin stripes finish off the base. The lines are thick and the shapes are roomy, so younger kids can color inside them with crayons or markers. Try giving each band its own color family, like cool blues and greens for the triangles and warm colors for the swirls. It is also a nice way to talk about patterns, since children can count the circles or spot which shapes repeat from one band to the next.
