Dinosaur Family I Spy Adventure by the Volcano
Coloring guide
Smiling and looking out over its two smaller friends, a tall long-necked dinosaur with a spotted body stands in the middle of this prehistoric scene. A young stegosaurus with plates along its back walks in from the left, and a cheerful triceratops with a frill and horns leans in from the right. In front, a woven nest holds several spotted eggs, tucked among leafy ferns. A pterosaur soars in the sky near puffy clouds. Behind everyone, a smoking volcano rises beside mountains, a lake and a small waterfall, and palm trees frame both sides of the page. I Spy fans will like all the detail to hunt through, from the eggs to the fern fronds. Soft greens for the tall dinosaur and warm orange for the volcano glow are a good start. - 1Fill the long neck dinosaur's body, head, and legs with leaf green, leaving the white spots on its back unpainted.
- 2Color the stripes running down its neck and belly with butter yellow, and paint the baby stegosaurus body and head with lavender purple.
- 3Paint the triceratops body, frill, and legs with apricot orange, and color the pterodactyl body with the same shade, leaving its beak and eye white.
- 4Color the bushes and ferns with lime green, forest green, and yellow green, and fill the far hills and volcano with warm gray and the lava with coral orange.
- 5Add the sandy tan dirt ground, the lake in sky blue, and the pale sky blue clouds, keeping the sky and the eggs cream white.
- 6Optional: add light shading on the darker side of the dinosaurs with a slightly deeper shade of the same color.
