Doves Perched Among Olive Branches and Ribbons

Seven doves fill this detailed scene. Two fly near the top with wings spread wide, one swoops in from the left with its tail feathers fanned out, and four sit on branches in the lower half. Round olive-like berries cover the twisting branches, and pointed leaves, curling ribbons and a few needle-like evergreen sprigs weave between the birds. A narrow leafy border frames the whole page. The feather lines, small berries and layered leaves make it a good fit for older kids, teens and adults who like fine detail. Try soft grays, tans and warm browns on the doves, then green and purple on the berries so the birds stand out. Teachers could use the page to talk about doves as a symbol of peace during the holiday season. Print it free and color it with sharp pencils or fine markers.
