Rainy Day Duckling with Leaf Umbrella, Calico Critters Page
Coloring guide
Splashing through a puddle, a cheerful little duckling in a hooded raincoat and rubber boots holds a big leaf over its head like an umbrella. It has a wide-open beak, round sparkly eyes and a small tuft of feathers on top, and a row of round buttons runs down the raincoat. Raindrops fall all over the page, and water splashes up around the boots. On the right, a smiling snail sits on a spotted mushroom, with a few grass tufts close by. The large shapes of the coat, boots and leaf are easy for small hands, and the raindrops and mushroom spots keep older kids busy. Sunny yellow for the duckling, bright red for the raincoat and boots, and fresh green for the leaf all work well. Print the free PDF at home, no sign-up needed. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big leaf umbrella and its handle leaf green, leaving the little shine streak on the canopy white.
- 2Fill the duckling's head, body, wing, and legs with lemon yellow, then color the raincoat with the same lemon yellow.
- 3Use golden yellow for the hood and the trim on the raincoat, and add orange to the beak and the round buttons on the coat.
- 4Color both rain boots bright blue, then fill the mushroom cap with cherry red, leaving its spots white.
- 5Color the snail's shell chocolate brown and its head peach, then add light blue raindrops, splashes, and grass green grass; leave the eye shines white.
- 6Optional: add a slightly darker shade of yellow along the folds of the raincoat to make it look more three-dimensional.
