I Spy Farmyard Friends: Cow, Pig, Chickens and Duck
Coloring guide
In the middle of this farmyard, a smiling spotted cow stands with a happy pig next to her. Behind them is a scarecrow in a floppy hat and patched overalls. A big barn with crossed-board doors sits past a wooden fence and a few bushes. Three chickens strut across the grass at the bottom left, and a little duck floats on a pond with cattails at the bottom right. Tufts of grass dot the whole yard, so it's a fun spot-and-count page for young kids. Red is a classic pick for the barn, with warm brown patches on the cow and soft pink for the pig. Bold lines and roomy shapes suit preschoolers and early elementary kids. Download the free PDF for classroom time or a rainy day. - 1Color the big barn walls with barn red and the roof edges with light gray, leaving the small door and window panels white.
- 2Fill the bushes, grass patches and fence posts with grass green and wheat tan, and paint the scarecrow overalls and the pond with sky blue and aqua blue.
- 3Give the cow dark brown spots and a caramel brown tail tip, and leave its face, belly and inner ears white.
- 4Paint the pig coral pink and the chickens honey gold, then color the scarecrow hat honey gold and its face pale straw.
- 5Color the duck beak bright yellow, keep the duck body white, and add sky blue to the cattails and pond edge.
- 6Optional: Add a slightly darker shade of each color along one side of the big shapes for a bit of depth.
