A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.

• golden yellow
• peach skin
• leaf green
• ocean blue
• red
• sky blue
• chestnut brown
• light gray
• cocoa brown
• tan
• pink
• pale lime

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.

1. 1Fill the lily pads, cattail leaves and grass clumps with leaf green, and add dark green to the grass at the far left and right edges.
2. 2Color the ducklings with golden yellow, leaving the eye whites and the small shine spots white.
3. 3Paint the boy's face, neck and hands with peach skin, his shirt with sky blue, and his pants with ocean blue.
4. 4Color the headband and bow with red, the boy's hair with chestnut brown, and the cattails with cocoa brown.
5. 5Fill the rocks with light gray, the feed bag with tan, the frog with pale lime, and the lotus flower with pink.
6. 6Add sky blue water ripples around the ducklings. Optional: add a slightly darker shade of each color on one side of the shapes for depth.
