Five round little piglets crowd around a long wooden trough full of feed, and a few have their heads bent down to eat. One piglet at the back smiles wide with its ears perked up. Another, at the front left, squeezes its eyes shut as it munches. A wooden fence with sturdy posts and rails closes in the pen behind them, and small bushes peek over the top. Tufts of grass dot the ground, and three apples sit in the foreground. Kids get to color curly tails, floppy ears, and lots of tiny round bits of feed in the trough. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by coloring the piglets' bodies, heads, and ears with soft pink, leaving the eye whites white.
- 2Color the rosy snouts and noses with rose pink, adding a little extra rose pink on the snout tips.
- 3Fill the trough, fence posts, and rails with tan, keeping the fence highlights white.
- 4Color the grass patches with light green and the darker tufts with grass green, then color the three apples apple red with grass green leaves.
- 5Add the feed pellets: golden yellow for the bright ones, peach and pale yellow for the light bits, and chestnut brown and dark brown for the darker pieces.
- 6Optional: add a few soft shadows under the piglets and inside the trough with a slightly darker tone of the same color for depth.
