Bedtime Story Bear with Two Kids, Huggy Wuggy (Poppy Playtime) Page
Coloring guide
In a cozy armchair sits a big, furry, bear-like creature with round ears and a gentle smile, holding a picture book open for two children. The boy wears star-patterned pajamas and rests his chin on his hands. The girl has long hair and heart-patterned pajamas and sits cross-legged next to him. Both have striped socks on and look up at the story. The book shows a little house, a pine tree, clouds and a sailboat on the waves. A floor lamp and a tied-back curtain stand behind them, with a night window showing a crescent moon and stars. It's a calm, quiet-time page you can print for free. Deep blues and purples would suit the night sky, with warm yellow for the moon, stars and lamp shade. Looking for more? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big bear: fill the head, body, arms, legs and ears with caramel brown, keeping the bear's eye whites bright white.
- 2Color the armchair, the round rug and the storybook pages in sky blue, then add ocean blue to the sea in the book.
- 3Fill the night window with navy blue and the curtains with steel blue, leaving the stars and the crescent moon white.
- 4Color the boy's hair chestnut brown, the girl's hair golden yellow, and both faces and hands light peach; make the bear's nose dark brown.
- 5Dress the boy in bright blue star pajamas and the girl in soft pink heart pajamas, keeping the socks and sneakers white.
- 6Finish with the details: lemon yellow sun, pale yellow lamp shade, tomato red boat, leaf green tree and light teal hill in the book. Optional: add a little darker shading under the bear and the kids for depth.
