Leaping Catch by a Smiling American Football Player
Coloring guide
Both arms stretched high, a smiling young player jumps into the air as a football drops just above his hands. He has on a striped helmet with a face mask, a V-neck jersey with striped sleeves, a belt, padded pants with a side stripe, tall socks, and laced cleats. A tall goal post stands behind him, along with a few round bushes at the edge of the field and little tufts of grass underfoot. Younger kids can reach the big helmet stripes and jersey sleeves with ease, while the laces on the ball and shoes keep older kids busy. Let your child choose their favorite team colors for the helmet and jersey, then match them on the pant and sleeve stripes. This free page needs no sign-up to download and print. A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- royal blue
- grass green
- warm peach
- pale peach
- light green
- steel gray
- chocolate brown
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the helmet, jersey, sleeve cuffs, gloves and socks in royal blue, leaving the helmet's top stripe, the sleeve stripe and the face mask white.
- 2Fill the raised arms with warm peach and the face, cheeks and nose with pale peach, keeping the eyes and teeth white.
- 3Color the bushes in the background and the grass strip with grass green, then use light green for the bottom grass and the field line.
- 4Color the goal post base and the ear in steel gray, and add a small chocolate brown patch on one end of the football.
- 5Keep the football's lace, the belt, the pants, and the shoes white so they stand out against the blue jersey.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading with a darker blue on the helmet and jersey folds for extra depth.
