Big American Football Lying on the Grass

Coloring guide
One big football, tipped on its side, fills most of this page. Bold laces run across the middle and two curved stripes sit near each tip. Small tufts of grass dot the bottom and sides, and a single puffy cloud floats in the upper left corner. Thick, clean outlines and wide open spaces make it simple for little hands to stay inside the lines, so preschoolers and early elementary kids can both enjoy it. A warm brown ball looks good, and you can leave the laces and stripes white or color them in a team color. Finish with green grass and a pale blue cloud. It's a free printable for game-day fun, a sports party or a relaxed afternoon at home or school. This fits right in with our American Football coloring pages — see also Soccer and NHL / Hockey.
A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- warm brown
- sky blue
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the cloud at the top left with sky blue, using light back-and-forth strokes.
- 2Fill the large middle part of the football with warm brown, working around the laces.
- 3Color the two rounded ends of the football with warm brown too, so the whole ball looks even.
- 4Leave the two curved stripes across the ball white, along with the laces and their stitches.
- 5Optional: add a few darker brown strokes near the edges of the football for a bit of depth.
