Forest Friends Gathered Around a Tree Stump

A squirrel stands on a cut tree stump with a single acorn, and a spotted young deer with small antlers, a fox, a bunny and a little hedgehog crowd in close around it. Up in the right corner an owl sits on a leafy branch, and a sun with rays shines over the tall pine and leafy trees behind them. Flowers, ferns, leaves and a few spotted mushrooms cover the ground, so there's plenty to color. Kids who like both big easy shapes and smaller patterns will enjoy this one. Orange suits the fox and squirrel, soft browns work for the stump rings and the deer, and red mushrooms with white dots really pop. Print it at home for a quiet, creative break.
