Artist Ghost Painting a Rainbow on an Easel

Coloring guide
Standing at an easel with a paintbrush in one hand and a paint palette in the other, a smiling little ghost is busy adding the last touches to a picture. The canvas shows a sun with rays and a big rainbow resting on two fluffy clouds. Next to the easel, a small wooden stool holds two paint jars and a cup full of brushes. The ghost has big sparkly eyes, rosy cheeks and a wide open grin, and the palette is dotted with blobs of paint waiting for color. This free printable suits kids who love art, Halloween that isn't scary, or cozy rainy-day crafts. Give each palette blob a different shade, then match the rainbow on the canvas to those same colors. The ghost's big body also leaves plenty of room for pastel shading or a soft glow. This fits right in with our Ghost coloring pages — see also Witch and Elf.

- 3Color the rainbow bands from the outside in: orange, golden yellow, bright red, then bright blue.
- 4Fill the sun with golden yellow and both clouds with sky blue.
- 5Color the palette spots: bright red, golden yellow, bright blue, purple, grass green and a touch of olive green, then add a coral pink smile and red-tipped brush details.
- 6Fill the paint jars and cup: bright red for the top jar, bright blue for the bottom jar and golden yellow for the cup. Optional: add a little shading along one side of each jar with a slightly darker shade.
