Here's a happy cartoon skeleton facing front and waving with its raised right hand. The other arm just hangs loose at its side. The round bald skull has big round eyes with shiny highlights, a small nose and a wide smile full of square teeth. Under the head you'll spot a collar bone, curved ribs, a spine, a pelvis with two oval openings, and long leg bones that end in flat feet with separate toes. Nothing else is on the page, so the figure stands alone on plain white paper and you get plenty of freedom. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the whole skeleton, including the skull, arms, legs, ribs, spine, hands and feet, with cream yellow, leaving the eye whites and teeth white.
- 2Color the pelvis sky blue, keeping the two oval holes in it white.
- 3Color the small nose warm gray.
- 4Fill the fingers and toes with cream yellow, keeping the thin gaps between them clean.
- 5Optional: add a little warm gray shading along the lower edges of the ribs and skull for depth.
