This clean black-and-white outline puts Garfield and Odie next to each other with no background, so little colorers have nothing to get distracted by. Garfield is on the right with his arms crossed, one foot propped up behind him, and a sleepy, smug half-lidded face. Odie takes the left side. His long floppy ears point straight up, his eyes are wide and round, and his tongue hangs down over his chest. One of Odie's paws sits on his hip while the other reaches behind Garfield's back. Garfield's fur stripes and the big paws on both characters leave lots of fun spots to fill in. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with pale yellow for Odie's face, round belly, arms, hands, legs and feet, leaving the gap between his legs white.
- 2Fill Garfield's head, body, crossed arms, raised leg, paws and tail with tangerine orange, keeping the eye whites and eyelid highlight white.
- 3Color Odie's floppy ears with chestnut brown and his collar with dark brown.
- 4Use soft pink for Garfield's nose, then add pale yellow to his lighter muzzle and jowls.
- 5Leave the background and Odie's eye whites and nose shine white so the characters stand out.
- 6Optional: add a few darker orange strokes on Garfield's stripes and a little extra brown on Odie's ears for depth.
