Spooky Garfield Bursting Out of a Jack-o'-Lantern

A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.

• pumpkin orange
• warm orange
• golden yellow
• pale yellow
• dark rust

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.

1. 1Fill the big pumpkin body, its right side, and the title letters with pumpkin orange, leaving the small highlight in the G white.
2. 2Color Garfield's head, ears, cheeks, body, and paws with warm orange, keeping his big eye whites white.
3. 3Shade the inside rim of the pumpkin and the shadow under its top edge with dark rust.
4. 4Fill Garfield's muzzle and chin with pale yellow, then color the pumpkin's triangle eyes, the front tooth, and the mouth edges with golden yellow.
5. 5Color the stars around Garfield with golden yellow and leave their outlines white.
6. 6Optional: Add a few darker strokes of dark rust along the pumpkin's edges and under Garfield's paws for depth.
