Smug Garfield Standing with Arms Crossed

Coloring guide
Up on his hind legs, Garfield folds his arms across his chest with a smug, satisfied grin. His heavy-lidded eyes are half closed, and whiskers flick out on both sides of his round cheeks. The tall, relaxed pose shows off the stripes on his head and belly and the curved tail swinging out behind him. His big feet rest flat on the ground with a few simple shadow marks beneath. There's no background, so the attention stays on him. Bold outlines and large open areas like the belly, arms and legs suit beginners and younger kids, and the stripes give older kids some detail to work on. Bright orange for the fur, with dark brown or black for the stripes and tail tip, looks right. Print this free page to grow your coloring stack. A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- warm orange
- pale yellow
- soft pink
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by coloring the big body parts in warm orange: the head, chest, neck, arms, tail, and both legs and feet.
- 2Fill the cheeks, lower muzzle, and the cheek patches with pale yellow, leaving the open smile mouth white.
- 3Color the nose with soft pink.
- 4Keep the eye whites, the nose bridge, and the gaps between the legs and under the tail white so the background shows through.
- 5Optional: Add a few darker stripes on the head, tail, and body with a deeper shade of warm orange for extra texture.
