Girl With Goggles Flying a Dragon Over the Sea, How to Train Your Dragon Page

Coloring guide
Up in the sky, a smiling girl with long braids and aviator goggles on her head sits in a harness on a grinning dragon's back as they fly over the sea. The dragon has big round eyes, small horns, a belly with curved stripes, spread bat-style wings and a finned tail that sweeps down to the lower left. Three seagulls glide by, puffy clouds fill the background, and simple rolling waves run along the bottom. Young artists get lots of open space for blending in the big wing panels and clouds, and the straps, boots and braids are good for careful detail work. Bright teal or emerald green for the wings and pale yellow for the striped belly would look great, with soft blues on the waves. It's a free PDF download for kids and coloring fans of all ages. - 1Start with the big green areas: color the dragon's head, body, legs and tail spikes in leaf green, leaving the eyes and teeth white.
- 2Fill the wings, the dorsal spikes and the horns with bright yellow, then add soft yellow to the tail fins and the belly bands.
- 3Color the girl's face and arms in warm peach, her overalls and pants in sky blue, and her shirt in cream.
- 4Add chocolate brown to the boots and the saddle strap, and tangerine orange to the two braid ties; keep the hair white.
- 5Finish the dragon's open mouth in coral pink, color the goggles frame slate gray, and leave the clouds, seagulls and background white.
- 6Optional: add a little darker green along the dragon's belly and under the wings for a bit of depth.
