A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big background greens: color the bushes, the grass and the tree leaves in grass green, and the tree branches in mint green.
- 2Fill the kimono in coral red, including the sleeves, the front panel and the long skirt, leaving the small white hem details untouched.
- 3Color the face and hands in light peach, the hair in chestnut brown, and the obi sash in lime green with the bow in butter yellow.
- 4Paint the watering can in sky blue and the fence and tree trunk in soft tan and chestnut brown, then add the falling petals and blossoms in blush pink.
- 5Optional: Add a little darker shading on the kimono folds and the tree trunk to give the drawing more depth.
