A Walk in the Forest with a Fox, Ever After High
Coloring guide
A smiling girl in a hooded cape walks along a winding forest path with a woven basket on her arm, a cloth tucked inside. Beside her trots a friendly fox with a big bushy tail, looking up at her with a happy face. She wears a fastened cloak, a belted dress and little boots. Twisting tree trunks, large leaves overhead, leafy bushes, grass tufts and spotted mushrooms surround them, and stepping stones and small pebbles dot the trail. There's a nice mix of big cape sections and tiny details to fill in. Red on the hood and cape will make her stand out against soft greens and browns, and the fox looks good in warm orange with a white-tipped tail. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big background greens: color the bushes, grass and leafy areas in grass green, then add dark green in the darkest shadows of the bushes and leaves.
- 2Fill the tree trunks, the girl's hair and the mushroom stems with chocolate brown, leaving small white gaps on the trunks for a natural look.
- 3Color the hood, cape and mushroom caps with cherry red, then fill the dress and the belt with sky blue and royal blue.
- 4Add the girl's face, neck, arms, hands and legs in warm beige, and the fox's body, legs and tail in orange with cream on the tail tip and chest.
- 5Use cream for the fox muzzle and boot cuffs, and peach for the inside of the fox ears. Leave the eye whites, the girl's teeth and the sky at the top white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker orange on the fox's underside and a touch of olive green on the mushroom in the bushes for depth.
