Happy 2016 Cute Firework Rocket and Smiling Star

Big bubbly numbers spell out 2016 under the word HAPPY, with a smiling star peeking out from behind the 2 and its eyes closed in a happy squint. In the lower right corner, a cute firework rocket wearing a striped party hat waves one little arm. It has big shiny round eyes and a small smile, and a tuft of flames trails from its base. Three firework bursts fill the space around the numbers, and small hearts, stars, dots and confetti bits are scattered across the page, all inside a thick square border. The wide outlines on the numbers are easy for small hands to color. Try a different color for each digit, then use the bursts for glitter, crayon scribbles or metallic markers. It also works well for a New Year's party table or a classroom countdown activity.
