Baby Elephant with a Trunk Full of Balloons
Coloring guide
A smiling baby elephant stands on a patch of grass, its curled trunk wrapped around a big bunch of balloons. The balloons float above its head in different sizes, each with a shiny highlight and a little knot at the bottom. The elephant has big sparkling eyes with lashes, an open happy mouth, large floppy ears and a small tufted tail. In the upper left corner, a sun with short rays shines down. Daisy-style flowers and tufts of grass sit around the elephant. Large shapes and bold outlines work well for preschoolers and early elementary kids, and the balloons give them lots of room to practice staying inside the lines. Soft sky blue or gray fits the elephant, with a rainbow of bright colors for the balloons. Grab this free PDF for a screen-free activity at home. - 2Fill the large ear and inner ear with baby pink, and paint the open mouth with rose pink.
- 3Color the balloons: golden yellow, bright red, lavender purple, grass green, orange, bubblegum pink and turquoise, leaving the small shine spots white.
- 4Color the sun in golden yellow and the tail tuft and chin details in charcoal gray, keeping the balloon strings white.
- 5Fill the flower leaves with leaf green and the grass, then color the hooves cream and leave the flower petals and centers white. Optional: add a little darker gray under the elephant for a soft shadow.
