A smiling tabby kitten sits behind a big striped bowl heaped with wrapped candies. One paw holds a swirly lollipop, and the kitten is licking its lips. Big sparkly eyes, long whiskers, fluffy chest fur and a curled, ringed tail all make it fun to color. The candies in the bowl come in different patterns, including striped, twisted-end and polka-dot wrappers, so kids can mix colors piece by piece. A few tufts of grass peek out on either side of the bowl. Large, clear outlines are easy for little hands, and the small candy details give older kids a challenge. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the whole cat body and head with golden orange, leaving the thin white stripes on the body and the cheek highlights uncolored.
- 2Fill the tail and the stripes on it with burnt orange, using cream for the tail tip and back paw, and add the forehead stripes in burnt orange.
- 3Color the bowl with soft blue for the bands and rim, and bright blue for the bowl foot and top band.
- 4Fill the candies with lime green, hot pink, bright blue, lemon yellow, bright red and violet, leaving the white candies and their wrappers white.
- 5Color the lollipop swirl lemon yellow, the nose and inner ears light pink, and the tongue coral pink; keep the lollipop stick and eye shines white.
- 6Optional: Add a little extra shading with a slightly darker orange along the belly and under the tail for depth.
