Gekko is caught mid-hop, with one fist punched up in the air and one leg kicked out to the side. His eyes are squeezed shut and his big open-mouth grin shows a few little teeth, so he looks like he's celebrating. Look for the two pointed ears on his head, the small tail behind him, the round spots on his shoulder, knee and boot, and the oval emblem on his chest. With no background, the page feels clean and uncluttered. Younger kids can fill in the large suit and head areas with ease, and older kids can add detail to the chest badge. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the head, body, both legs, raised arm, fist, and left elbow in bright blue, leaving the eye whites, the shoe soles, and the eyelid area blank.
- 2Fill the face mask around the mouth with peach, then color the inside of the open mouth dark brown and the lower lip coral pink.
- 3Color the nose, both ears, and the front shoe in tomato red.
- 4Add golden yellow to the shoulder patch, knee pad, hip patch, tail tip, and the outer part of the chest emblem, then fill its center with tomato red.
- 5Optional: add a few slightly darker blue strokes along the edges of the head and legs for depth.
