Happy Leprechaun Running With Big Sack and Waving Hand

A cheerful leprechaun-style man leaps across the page with one arm stretched high and his hand open in a wave. His eyes are squeezed shut and his mouth is wide open in a big laugh. He wears a rounded hat with a brim, a buttoned jacket with cuffs, and a round belly that fills the middle of the picture. In his other hand he holds a long rolled-up item, and a large round sack hangs behind his shoulder. His legs kick out in opposite directions, with pointed shoes at both ends. The lines are bold and the shapes are big, so it works well for younger kids with chunky crayons. Since this is filed under St. Patrick's Day, try green for the hat and jacket, then let kids pick colors for the sack and decide what might be inside it. It could also start a short story-writing activity.
