A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.

1. 1Start by coloring the puppy's head and body in golden yellow, leaving the eye whites, the nose and the candle flames white.
2. 2Color the big balloons: the left balloon and the right balloon in sky blue and bright green, and the lower balloons in red and purple, keeping the small shiny spots white.
3. 3Fill the gift boxes next: the left presents in deep blue with bright yellow bows, the right present in purple with sky blue ribbon, and the small polka-dot box in bright green with red ribbon.
4. 4Color the party hat in sky blue, then add orange, bright yellow, grass green and red dots, and make the pompom red.
5. 5Color the birthday cake in pale cream with coral pink frosting and golden yellow decorations, then add purple and golden yellow stripes to the candles.
6. 6Optional: add a few darker shading lines on the puppy's ears and tail, and finish with the streamers in red, sky blue and green while leaving the background white.
