Spell Bursting From Harry Potter's Wand
Coloring guide
A wide-eyed boy in round glasses leans back a little as a spell bursts from the tip of his wand, and that blast is the heart of this page. He's dressed in a striped long-sleeve shirt, loose long pants and chunky sneakers, with one arm stretched toward the explosion and the other hand open by his side. The burst has lots of detail, including sharp radiating lines, small four-point stars and long curved trails ending in little starbursts. There's no background, so kids can stay with the action. Bright golds and oranges look good in the center, with purple or electric blue on the trailing sparks so they pop against the white page. His shirt stripes are a handy spot to practice careful coloring. Print or download this free page for your growing collection. Looking for more? A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- denim blue
- golden yellow
- chestnut brown
- sky blue
- peach skin
- navy blue
- bright red
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by coloring the hair with chestnut brown, and the face and right hand with peach skin, leaving the glasses and eye areas white.
- 2Fill the jeans with denim blue, including both legs and the knee area, and keep the small highlights on the pants white.
- 3Color the striped sweater with sky blue for the lighter stripes and navy blue for the collar and lower band, then add denim blue to the darker sleeve sections.
- 4Color the central spark burst with golden yellow, keeping the thin sparkle lines and small glints on the wand white.
- 5Color one shoe's patch bright red and the rest of the shoes with denim blue, leaving the white soles and laces bright.
- 6Optional: Add a bit of darker denim blue along the edges of the pants and sleeves for a little depth.
