Battle-Worn Iron Man Amid Drifting Smoke, Marvel Armor

A tall armored hero stands with his feet planted wide, arms hanging at his sides and his head tilted slightly back. The helmet has a faceplate with a stern, closed-eye expression. A round circle sits in the middle of the chest, and the armor shows lots of detailed muscle-shaped panels on the torso, arms and legs. Thick gauntlets cover the forearms, and the open hands have wisps of smoke curling up from them. Small spark bursts dot the shoulders, hip, knee and boots, and long wavy smoke trails drift around the figure. Puffy clouds sit near the lower legs and he stands on a curved patch of ground. For coloring, try metallic-looking reds and golds with light and dark shades to show the shine on each armor plate, then use soft grays for the smoke and clouds. The many small sections are good practice for older kids working on careful shading.
