Painting Time with a Talking Tom Kitten at the Easel

This happy kitten has big sparkly eyes and an open smile, and it's sitting at a round table with a paintbrush raised toward a small easel. Little artists will find plenty to color here. The table holds a paint palette, three small paint pots and a few crayons rolling around, plus two drawings, one of a little house and one of a flower with leaves. On the left behind the kitten is a leafy potted plant, and on the right a window shows puffy clouds. The kitten's tail curls around from behind. Orange fur looks nice, and you could give every paint pot its own bright color to match the palette. It's an easy print for a classroom project or a weekend craft. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the cat's head, body, arm, paws and tail in bright orange, leaving the eye shines and the white cheek and paw highlights uncolored.
- 2Color the inner ears and the open mouth in soft pink, then fill the plant pot and the flower pot in terracotta.
- 3Fill the table, its front edge and the wall and floor areas with tan and cream, and color the window sky pale blue with light green bushes outside.
- 4Paint the easel frame and paint jars, the red cushion and the palette in warm brown, bright red and golden yellow, keeping the easel canvas and paper white.
- 5Add the house with a bright red roof, pale yellow walls and a warm brown window, then color the flower center and petals golden yellow.
- 6Finish with the crayons, paintbrush and plant leaves in their colors, and the floor rug in soft blue. Optional: add a little darker shading along the cat's body for depth.
