Mid-jump across a nighttime city rooftop, this cheerful turtle has a spiky mohawk-style crest, an open-mouth grin, one arm stretched forward and the other pulled back. He's wearing wrist wraps, knee pads and wrapped boots, and his shell shows behind him. A big cratered moon fills the sky with a few little stars nearby. Brick buildings with windows and chimneys frame both sides, a water tower sits on the right and a small skyline of tall buildings rises in the middle. There are lots of open areas here for bold color. Try a deep blue and purple sky with a pale yellow moon, and bright greens on the turtle so he stands out from the bricks. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the moon with pale yellow, then add soft yellow to its craters so they stand out.
- 2Fill the turtle's face, neck, body, arms, legs and feet with leaf green, leaving the eye whites white and coloring the tongue coral pink.
- 3Color the shell plates soft yellow and the shell edges chocolate brown, keeping the lines between plates clear.
- 4Add bright blue to the mohawk, headband, wristbands, ankle bands and knee pads.
- 5Color the rooftops, chimneys and building walls brick red, use light gray for the ledges and chimney tops, and tan brown for the water tower with chocolate brown on its top band.
- 6Finish with golden yellow on the star, light sky blue on the windows, and dark slate gray on the water tower base. Optional: add a little darker green along the turtle's shadow side for depth.
