Link Leaping with Sword Toward Fire-Breathing Dragon

Link springs through the air with a sword gripped in both hands, his brow furrowed and his pointed ears showing under his cap. A triangle symbol is drawn on the blade near the hilt. He wears a tunic with a belt and buckle, scale-patterned leggings, boots and a flowing cape. Facing him is a long-snouted dragon with a horned, banded head. Its coiled body fills the background in curving stripes and dark scaly patches. A big puff of flame swirls out below, leaving plenty of open white space. Try coloring the flames in layers of yellow, orange and red, then use deep greens or purples for the dragon so Link's green tunic stands out. The large shapes and bold outlines work well for markers, and the dark scale sections give older kids a chance to practice careful shading.
