Lofty and Roley Watching Pilchard the Cat

Two machines sit side by side in front of a house with a tall chimney, both looking down with sad, droopy eyes. On the left is Lofty the crane, with his long boom raised, a hook hanging down and a frowning mouth. Beside him is Roley the steamroller, with a big front roller, a back roller and a small light on top of his frame. At the bottom, a small striped cat, which looks like Pilchard, crouches near an empty bowl and a tin can. The shapes are large and the lines are clean, so younger kids can manage it easily. Try coloring the stripes on the cat's tail in two alternating colors, then talk about why the machines might look so worried.
