Mice Holding Ornaments Around a Striped Ball Mandala

Six little mice stand in a ring around a big striped ball in the center of this round mandala, and each one holds a large ornament-style ball over its head. The ornaments take turns between two patterns: some are covered in circles of different sizes, and others are filled with small eight-pointed stars. Every mouse has a long curly tail, and a candy-cane-like hook rests beside each ornament. The whole scene sits inside a circular border, with a brick-style band of small rectangles around the outside edge. Try coloring the ornaments in alternating shades, one color family for the circle balls and another for the star balls, so children can spot the repeating pattern. The stripes on the center ball also make good practice for staying inside narrow lines. It works well for a quiet holiday afternoon at home or in the classroom.
