Ducks on the Pond: Mother and Three Ducklings Among Lily Pads (Farm Animals (General))

A smiling mother duck glides across a pond, and three little ducklings paddle right behind her. Gentle ripples circle each of them. Her wing is drawn with big, easy feathers, and the ducklings have round heads, tiny beaks, and bright eyes. Cattail reeds rise along the left and right edges. Two water lilies sit on lily pads, and there's an empty pad in the bottom left corner. Large shapes and clean lines make this a good fit for preschoolers and early elementary kids still getting used to crayons and pencils. Soft yellow works for the ducklings with warm orange beaks, pink or white for the blossoms, and greens and browns for the cattails. It also suits a spring or farm-animal lesson at home or in class.
