At the bottom of this page, a small clownfish who looks like Nemo peers out of a glass tube with a cap on it, and three fish crowd in above him. One has stripes and a tall fin and looks like Gill, leaning over the tube. Just above sits a round fish with big eyes, and from the right curves a fish with tall spiky fins and dark eyes. A leafy plant stem with clover-shaped leaves winds through the picture and goes into the cap. Wavy water lines and a slanted ledge run along the bottom. With big and small shapes together, it suits kids who enjoy a bit of detail. Orange and white stripes for Nemo and soft greens for the leaves look nice. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big orange areas: color the cat's head and body and the fish's fins with bright orange, leaving the cat's eye whites and the bubble white.
- 2Fill the fish's main body with golden yellow and its belly and mouth area with cream yellow, keeping the vine and the thin white lines white.
- 3Color the leaves with leaf green and the top leaves with grass green, then paint the plant stems with moss green and dark brown.
- 4Paint the water in the tube and the pool with light blue and sky blue, and color the grass bank with grass green.
- 5Add burnt red stripes along the fish's fins and back, and use rust brown on the fish's side and fin shadows.
- 6Optional: add darker dark brown shading on the flower pot and the fish's gill, and leave the background white.
