Ornate Hanging Lanterns and Jewels Pattern Page

Coloring guide
Rows of ornate hanging lanterns and ornaments fill the whole page in a repeating pattern, with a small dotted border around the edge. Each lantern has an onion-dome or teardrop shape, and many have a little cap and tassel at the bottom. The surfaces are covered in detail: diamond shapes, scalloped arches, rows of circles, dotted lines and thin stripes. A few of the larger lanterns have swags of beaded chains hanging underneath. Between them you will see faceted gems, beaded strings and small pointed crystals. There are no characters in the picture, only the decorations. Since the shapes repeat, it works well as a color-by-pattern exercise. Pick three or four colors and give every lantern of the same shape the same scheme, then use a metallic pen or gel pen on the gems and beads. The small spaces suit fine-tip markers and colored pencils, and older kids or adults may enjoy it most.
